ORLANDO, USA -- A Florida man said he was shocked to discover he was "a billionaire for a minute" when his bank froze his account and flagged a $999.99 million deposit.
Otelo Vizcaino, 42, of Orlando, said he discovered after his card was rejected at a gas pump last week his account had been frozen by SunTrust Bank and a $999.99 million deposit had been flagged, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Tuesday.
"That's right -- one penny short of $1 billion," Vizcaino said. "I was a billionaire for a minute, and I have nothing to show for it but grief."
SunTrust Bank said Monday the account was frozen as the result of internal computer procedures and there were no security breaches. The bank said the $999.99 million deposit is an internal signal to bank workers that the account is currently frozen.
"We work to verify funds as efficiently and effectively as possible to limit any impact to a client's account," SunTrust spokesman Hugh Suhr said. "Based on the feedback in this instance, it sounds like we could have done a better job communicating that process."
Vizcaino said the bank told him his account should be back to normal by Wednesday

Your Data at Risk
Thanks to their small size, low cost, and capability of instant backup and file transportation between multiple computers, USB drives actually pose significant security threats for businesses.
For example, disgruntled employees can easily make off with sensitive company information on a USB drive. "The threat is not new, but the problem is exacerbated by tiny and cheap USB drives," says Leslie Fiering, research vice president at Gartner in San Jose, Calif. "The moment we had removable storage media -- going back to floppy disk drives -- there have been stories of janitors going onto computers after hours and downloading major amounts of information." Employees who plan on quitting a company -- or perhaps those expecting a pink slip -- can also easily copy over customer or client databases, emails, calendar appointments and contact lists in a matter of seconds, and then take this digital info with them to a competitor.
Increasingly, USB drives can also carry harmful malware, say security experts. USB keys can be used to install viruses or to serve as boot drives to erase data -- even unintentionally. An employee who uses a USB drive on a personal computer at home could carry malware back to a work computer without his or her knowledge.
USB Security: What You Can Do
You should take several precautions to minimize the risk of data theft or malware attacks via USB drives. Consider the following:
- Implement strong security software. All company computers should have the right security software to detect and remove potential threats. "Without question, you need serious protection today that not only protects from online threats but also is capable of scanning external devices too, such as USB drives," warns Fiering.
- Limit USB access. In extreme cases, organizations have cut off access to USB ports. Others have limited USB access to specific employees. Using encrypted USB drives is another option, as is disabling AutoRun on computers so that programs on a USB drive don’t immediately run when a drive is inserted.
- Monitor use. Keeping track of USB access will help you note who is using the drive, on which computer and at what time of day." IT departments need to make sure their machines are secure and sensitive information protected," adds Michael Gartenberg, research director at Gartner in Stamford, Conn.
- Focus on education. “Banning can result in users trying to bypass the ban,” cautions Santorelli. A usage policy augmented by an awareness campaign to educate end users will help mitigate the risks.
Fiering and Santorelli note that these risks are not limited to USB drives. Santorelli calls it an “erosion of the traditional network perimeter” because of the prevalence of mobile devices and the convergence of personal and work technology. “This is a problem that's not going away any time soon," says Fiering. With the right security measures, however, companies can ensure the security of their data, despite today’s increased risks.

Xbox live is a fantastic service. Unfortunately, you cannot remove your credit card information. You can however change the default setting on ON to OFF to prevent the automatic renewal of the Xbox live service. You can then revert to Xbox live Silver or redeem codes.
Disable Auto Renew by following these simple steps:
- Log in to your Xbox live account
- Go to the membership page and click Membership Level. Not that the setting next to Automatic renewal is set to ON (see picture below)
- Keep clicking Next at the bottom of the page until you get the option to turn automatic renewal off.
NOTE: In some countries, Microsoft has disabled this link. The only way in those cases is to call Microsoft directly. You can find the contact number here

uTorrent is an excellent piece of free software. It's small (170 KB), feature-rich and has a tiny memory footprint in Windows. It is without doubt my favourite torrent client!
I was pleasantly surprised recently, to find that uTorrent also has a few easter eggs:
- Launch uTorrent and click Help -> About uTorrent
- Clicking the µTorrent logo will play a synthesized sound
- Pressing the T-button on your keyboard when viewing the About uTorrent dialog box will start a game of uTris (uTorrent's version of tetris)
- The older version of uTorrent (V1.3) will display a Christmas eCard when launched on Christmas day

When a reset happens, your home or office router will default to its factory settings. If you can't remember the default username and password combination or don't have your manual around you won't be able to access the administrative console and make configuration changes.
At this point, you would probably start searching online for the default password. Fortunately, a large list of default logins has been compiled. The list is updated fairly regularly.
TIP: The fact that these passwords are so easily obtainable should serve as a warning to those that are still using default passwords on their routers. Be sure to change your default password and username if possible, to prevent malicious unauthorized access to your router.

BitTorrent is a a peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing network. Users connect directly to each other to share files, hence the peer-to-peer tag. This is coordinated via a server and in some cases by multiple servers called a tracker. A seeder is someone who hosts a file that people can readily download on the BitTorrent network. BitTorrent has received a lot of bad publicity in the media in recent times due to its perceived illegal nature. Using BitTorrent is NOT illegal, seeding or hosting copyrighted media, however, is!
To get started you will need a BitTorrent client. There are literally dozens of BitTorrent clients available. You will find many if you perform a simple google search. I would however recommend:
utorrent - A fast, free, small, feature-packed bittorrent client. One of the best and what I personally use.
Azureus - A cross-platform Java based client. Probably the most popular and one of the most feature packed around.
Once you've downloaded and installed your respective BitTorrent client, how exactly do you go about downloading?
You need to visit a BitTorrent website the hosts files with a .torrent file extension. Examples of such sites:
Torrentz
Mininova
btmon
Once there, simply search for what you want, download the file with the .torrent file extension (these files are generally a few kilobytes) and double click on it once its on your pc!
