How to reset Internet Explorer (IE) settings to default

This applies to Internet Explorer versions 6,7,8,9 and shows you how to easily reset Internet Explorer's settings and configuration to its factory defaults.

Simply follow the steps below:

- Close Internet Explorer completely.

- Click Start >> Run

- In the Run dialog box type inetcpl.cpl and click in OK

- In the Internet Properties dialog box click the Advanced tab and then click Reset (see picture below)

- In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box tick Delete Personal Settings and click the Reset button.
