Microsoft displayed demos of its upcoming consumer OS, Windows 8 to attendees of the BUILD conference and released Windows 8 Developer Preview Build along with the sneak peek of the developers platform and tools. Every attendee was also given a Samsung Windows 8 tablet running on Windows 8 Developer Preview Build.
At the conference the Windows 8 Developer Preview copy was made available to all participants. For those not present Microsoft ensured that it was just a matter of time before the build was uploaded online. This build. is now available for download.
This includes a 64-bit (x64) build with development tools to build apps and a 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) build without development tools. The releases also include a suite of sample applications (please note these are merely illustrations of potential apps, not apps that we intend to ship with Windows 8)
