How to create Virtual Hard Disks (VHD's) of physical disks (Disk2vhd)
Disk2vhd is a new utility released by the Sysinternals team at Microsoft. It allows you to convert your physical hard disk into a virtual one (in Microsoft's VHD format) If you're not fully aware of these technical terms, no sweat, we'll help you in understand them:
VHD refers to "Virtual Hard Disk" which is a file format used in Microsoft virtual machines.
Disk2vhd allows you to create a virtual hard disk file (VHD file) of your physical hard disk (whats actually in your computer)
You can then use the VHD file in Microsoft Virtual PC or Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machine software.
Disk2vhd supports Windows XP SP2 and higher. It also fully supports 64-bit windows operating systems.
