How to reset the thumbnail cache in Windows 7
If thumbnail pictures are not displaying correctly, a simple resett of the thumbnail cache will fix the issue the majority of the time. Performing this reset will purge the thumbnail cache and force the automatic creation of new thumbnails as needed.
To reset the thumbnail cache, follow these simple steps:
- Click Start >> All programs >> Accessories >> System Tools
- Click Disk Cleanup
- Select your Boot drive and click OK (In most cases this will be C)
- Tick the Thumbnails checkbox (make sure nothing else is checked)
- Click OK
- When prompted, click the Delete Files button.
